I have ALWAYS loved what I do, I love my life…and I created it. Each day I make an intention to passionately shake my world into greatness through creativity, innovation, and focus.

You can’t help but bring joy and light and optimism into your life with this approach. It is impossible to create from our connection to source, to gather inspiration from all that is around us, to co-create with the universe, and to be pessimistic at the same time. The universe wants us to inspire each other and gives us all that we need to do so.

“You need chaos in your soul to give birth to a dancing star.” ~Nietzsche

I bought my first business in 1989 at age 23, and I joke about having this fear that one day a client would walk into my office, point at me, and say, “You don’t know what you are doing!” and I would drop my head onto my desk and say, “You’re right.” It was a very realistic fear because I really DON’T know what I am doing. That’s good! My staff and I are creating things that have not been done before in our market. We never let the fact that it hadn’t been done before stop us.

This is exciting! In all of my businesses I endeavor to create something magnificent from that daring place, from that place of not knowing. We swing out beyond the edges – at times, way beyond – and sometimes we go flying off, but we always land in something better. You don’t always get what you thought you would, but you always get something new, and gain experience.

“Creativity is a drug I cannot live without.” ~Cecil B. DeMille

My level of fulfillment is directly related to my level of daring. I NEED to be creating at all times, it is my nature, and I believe that it is everyone’s nature.

An excellent sign that you are being daring in your creativity is that people are saying that you are being ridiculous, absurd, crazy, eccentric, unreasonable, or wacky. Find people who are willing to go there with you. Later, you will be praised for your originality, talent, vision, brilliance, and imagination.

Work out your creativity muscles and get the creative juices flowing. Twist, stretch, bend, move! Here are some fun ways:

• Look at things differently. Change your perspective, seeing things from all sides, upside-down and with your eyes closed.

• Get old ideas out of your head to make room for new ones. Practice with a beginner’s mind.

• Reverse your assumptions. What if the opposite of what you believe to be true, was actually true?

• Notice what others have missed. See the details AND the Big Picture.

• Get Curious. What else is possible?

• Create beyond your perceived capabilities and grow into it. What would stretch you? What would feel daring? What serves your desire?

• Develop a creative project. Something that you are passionate about: making jewelry, writing a book, building a boat, find ways to make creativity a part of your daily life.

• Try something new everyday. Grow, in big ways or small. What is one “average” thing in your life that you could love into greatness today?

• Create from everything. What inspires you? From where you are right now, find 10 things that inspire creativity in you.

What is asking to be born in you?

Get your creativity turned on! Embrace your creative talents, it feels good, and the time is now. Waiting for the right circumstances to create your dream life is like waiting to have sex in your old age. Why would you do that?! Wake up your muse and shake up your life!

Excellent post. Thanks. One of my favorite comments is,

“We swing out beyond the edges – at times, way beyond – and sometimes we go flying off, but we always land in something better. You don’t always get what you thought you would, but you always get something new, and gain experience.”

That’s a great reminder to stay open, curious and willing to learn through action.

    Well said.
