Life is meant to be lived and enjoyed to the fullest. I believe that we all have a deep desire to live an abundant and exciting life, to get up every day with purpose and live out each day passionately. But only a few of us dare to step out of our comfort zone, follow our heart, and take bold and daring actions to design the lifestyle of our dreams.

Have you ever wondered what your life would be like if you worked out your daring muscle each and every day – stopping at nothing to create the life and business of your dreams? How many women do you and I know who truly have the courage to live life on their own terms, are doing what they love, and are fulfilled and happy? Doing what you love, knowing that it matters and getting financially and soulfully rewarded for it … what can anything be better than that.

Life is too short to waste it by always erring on the cautious side or playing it safe instead. The worst feeling you can have is regret — regrets of unfulfilled dreams and unmet goals. But to live without regrets means you have to take risks and step outside of your comfort zone. You have to dare to dream big and pursue and monetize your dreams, passions and expertise in spite of any fears, flaws, circumstances, challenges or setbacks.

What might keep you from living a daring life?
Your stories, past disappointments, hurts and pains… in short the things you feel shame, guilt or blame about and that you haven’t let go of – like Tony Robbins says: “What stands between you and what you desire (dream life) are the stories you tell yourself (and others) about why you can’t have what you want.” Playing a huge part is also the fears – fear of humiliation, rejection or failure, and possibly the lack of self-esteem, the feeling of not being good enough or worthy enough to deserve what you truly want.

I’m amazed as to how many women I personally know who have achieve a certain level of professional and material success, and are still feeling inadequate in at least one area of their life and are often suffering in silence, thinking that they are the only ones feeling that way. That is not the case. I know that because I’ve been there, and at times, I still struggle in spite of all my personal, professionals and financial accomplishments and awards.

We work so hard at our business or career but the truth is that a lot of successful women, like us, don’t know the first thing when it comes to loving ourselves. We have escaped our inner baggage in hopes that success and money will be the answer. In today’s society image is everything and people are afraid to admit to themselves, let alone to others, “I’m not happy.” We fill ourselves with careers and expensive things only to still feel empty. But escaping to your career only leave you exhausted. To be truly abundant, joyous and fulfilled, you must, not only acknowledge, but appreciate and be grateful for your hurts, pains, and disappointments and come to peace with where you are. To appreciate the personal and professional daring journey that you’re on. To love the person you have become. It’s time to reclaim your power and truly enjoy the rest of your life.

What can you do right now to become more daring?
I like to say that change is constant and inevitable but growth and progress are not.

We make a lot of important decisions when we don’t much about ourselves – in our twenties we decide on the type of career we are going to have, where we are going to live, the person we are going to marry, whether or not we are going to have children, and so and so forth, so it’s no wonder that so many of us come to a time and place in our lives, where we find ourselves questioning our choices and decisions, and are wondering,… if we had to do all over again, would we be making the same decisions.

So if you find yourself at a crossroad living a life that doesn’t thrill or excite you, the big question is: what are you daring yourself to do about it? Ask yourself: If not now then when? And if not that (that being the status quo), then what?

You must find and reconnect with what makes you happy today and DARE to go for it!

The happiest people (and often the wealthiest) are those living their passions and dreams despite any difficulties, fears, circumstances or setbacks. You have the ability to be, do or have anything you want. But at the end of the day, YOU get to choose how your life is going to be!

Dare to Break Free: Identify and Overcome Self-Limiting Beliefs, Confront Your Fears and Have More Fun and Joy. Do you get up every morning excited because you’re riding the wave of your dream? Is your life a kaleidoscope or have you been living in black and white? Have you been holding back or settling for less than you can have and deserve… less money, fun, freedom and laughter? Is your life waiting for you to show up so that it can begin? It’s your time to shine. Don’t allow past mistakes to shape your destiny or your fears to hold you back.

Dare to Discover and Embrace Your Passions. Discover and Embrace Your Gifts, Talents, Experiences and Expertise. As a Certified Dream Coach® that is huge for me. So mired in reality, so busy living by our clocks and calendars, we often forget what matters to us or have little time to even think about it. It’s so important that you get in touch with your purpose and passions, dreams and hopes and that you take the necessary steps, day by day, week by week for getting what you want or simply giving yourself a bit of time everyday to do something you truly enjoy. Happiness comes when we live on purpose.

DARE to Soar: Learn to live without regrets, take more leaps of faith, leave the comfort zone behind, invest in yourself and take risks and daring actions to create the life of your choosing. Knowing that life is about to end, researchers wanted to know,” what would you do over again?”

Three common responses from the 10,000 individuals studied were:
• Take more leaps of faith

7 Steps to a Better You!

Nearly everyone wishes they could do something better, become stronger, happier, perhaps even a little bit wiser. I have created a 7 steps guideline for everyone to follow that can alter your life for the better. I can assure you if you carry out these 7 steps daily you will grow into the person you dream to be, little by little. Personal development is not something that can change you over night, just like if you go to the gym for one day you will not see results. I can guarantee if you stay consistent, within time you will see the outcome you hoped for.

Step one: In the morning do your mirror exercise.

Stand in front of a mirror. Focus on yourself and your positive qualities that you find beautiful. Dig as deep as you possibly can, bringing out every compliment you can possibly give yourself. This can be quite difficult because if you are like most people, it’s always easier to pinpoint the negative rather then shine the spotlight on the positive. Give yourself every compliment you could ever want to receive. Tell yourself that you love yourself and that you are lucky to be you.

As for your qualities that others find in you, really look at them and see how you can improve.

(Remember, this is between you and you so be honest with yourself and change what should be changed.)

THERE’S A SMALL SQUIRREL IN MY BACKYARD running with an acorn. I watch him for a minute when suddenly he is attacked by another squirrel attempting to steal his acorn. After a long struggle the smaller squirrel runs away, unfortunately without his acorn. I wonder if that squirrel will still be holding angry thoughts toward the squirrel that sold his dinner?

No other life form on planet Earth seems to hold so much negativity in their mind, body, and life as the human race.

Think about it, you may see an angry squirrel chasing another for an acorn, but I bet the anger is forgotten once the other squirrel has eaten the acorn.

Wouldn’t you agree?

There are millions of patterns in the subconscious mind.

The patterns that actually work for you can be left alone, but the patterns that aren’t working can be explored and retrained.

But how do you find them?

How do you bring them into your conscious awareness?

These dragons are stopping you from living the life of your dreams.

Let’s talk about how you can uncover your own unique hidden limiting beliefs and mental patterns (dragons).

Step 1: Observe your thoughts first. The thought precedes that habit/addiction/pattern/dragon

Step 2: When the thought comes up ask yourself, “Is this thought of
past, present, or future? Is this true for all mankind?”

Step 3: Redirect the mind into the present time. (The past is a mere memory and the future is a mere fantasy. This means that you need to deal with issues in the now.)

Step 4: How do you experience that thought/dragons and feel right now? How does it feel?

Step 5: Write down the situation in your journal and name your dragon.

So what are we to do to turn a setback into a comeback? 

First of all, just accept the above – we ALL go through unexpected downturns and detours. And even if you do feel that it was a decision you made or something you did that caused the turn of events, once it’s set into motion, the wisest thing to do is to learn from it! 

So the first lesson we’re always invited to grab is one of determination. Do we hang up our hat and give up on our goals just because of a detour? With any luck your answer to this question is no. Because where would we be if that were true? No accomplishments – from the smallest invention to space travel can be realized without passing through a road riddled with setbacks and potholes. 

When The Daring Woman website was broken into and ruined. Believe me, my commitment to creating a forum for daring women over the last few years has been tremendous. I have devoted myself to this goal on every level – why? Because I know that women are the heartbeat of this world – and that we often put ourselves last on our list. Our dreams get pushed aside too easily as we juggle to fulfill all the demands upon us day after day. But there is always that place inside that dares us to be more – it dares us to claim those goals and dreams and GO for them. 

And so I could not let my setback stop me from working toward this goal. How could I? Inspiring others is simply not a dream/vision I can let go of. So there’s lesson #2 – don’t let ANYTHING or ANYONE stop your dreams. Use that setback to remind yourself how much you want that goal in your life. Recommit to it and then immediately begin your comeback!  I did and now my vision is clearer than ever before and my passion is at an all time high.

Lesson #3 – Start by plotting your course of action. What do you need to do to get back on track? Is it a matter of expertise or finances? Whatever it is, once you have your plan in place, start your journey by letting everyone in your life know what threw you off track. Because without a doubt you have surrounded yourself with successful, resourceful, passionate people. Those people will surprise you with their devotion to you and their passion for you to hit your dreams. Why? Because they KNOW what setbacks are – and they know what dreams are. 

Lesson #4 – Your setback is an opportunity to regroup, refocus and recommit to your passion. 

DARE to Make the Right Choices, EVEN if it Means Starting Over!

Feature Article: DARE to Make the Right Choices

What do we think of when we talk about DARING to make the right choices? Most likely, as Daring Women, we probably think of our career path and our families / intimate relationships. Yes, making the right choices, even late in the game, can liberate us from stagnant careers and no-win situations. No matter how far down the road we have gone with something that makes us unfulfilled or unhappy, the most wonderful thing about life is that if you simply woke up alive, you can choose to claim a do-over.

You can reclaim financial health by ending credit card debt and stopping a career in which you are under earning. You can reclaim love by walking away (or at least distancing yourself) from hurtful and critical relationships. You can reposition yourself and your career by freelancing in areas of expertise that you love. (How many administrators out there have profound problem solving skills and expertise at an endless variety of software applications?)

My point is that life is a new journey every single day, and it is FUELED by the energy and courage it takes when we DARE to make the right choices.

I know this is not easy. It means leaving people or positions that we are often familiar and “safe” with – and it means moving forward without necessarily having a clear view of the future. But I promise you that no matter what happens, when we DARE to make the RIGHT choices about who we give our energy to, whether it be relationships, jobs, money, time – we will ALWAYS reap not only rewards, but more fuel for the next right steps in our journey. DARE Yourself, you are worth it, your life is worth it!
